Dr. Judy Kim is a board-certified family physician recognized for her compassionate and comprehensive approach to patient care. Growing up in Los Angeles, she gained invaluable insights into the importance of nutrition and preventative care while working at her family’s health food store. This early exposure, combined with her parents’ dedication to service, inspired her to pursue a medical career focused on delivering whole-person, proactive care.
Dr. Kim graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, where her studies in social sciences and public policy gave her a unique perspective on how systemic factors influence individual health. She then earned her medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine, embracing its philosophy of cura personalis, care for the whole person. This approach aligned with her vision for medical care and led her to UCLA for residency in Family Medicine, where she refined her skills in providing care across all ages and health conditions.
Dr. Kim has vast experience across a diverse range of healthcare systems, most recently serving as Medical Director for Primary Care and Assistant Clinical Professor at UCSF. There she led interdisciplinary teams across Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, and Pediatrics. Alongside her leadership responsibilities, she has remained deeply committed to education, mentoring medical students and residents at UCSF, UCLA, Kaiser, and the University of Chicago.
Dr. Kim is committed to enhancing patients’ health span through a personalized diagnostic approach that integrates advanced lab testing, genetic analysis, cardiometabolic health evaluation, psychological care, and lifestyle management. Additionally, she is a certified women’s health expert with the Menopause Society, bringing specialized expertise to support women’s health at every stage.
At Peninsula Doctor, Dr. Kim finds immense fulfillment in leveraging her expertise to foster deep patient connections and deliver high-quality care. By integrating the latest research and collaborative decision-making with her patients, Dr.Kim is able to excel in unraveling the root causes of conditions and promote proactive health strategies.
Outside of her professional work, Dr. Kim enjoys staying active, cooking, and spending quality time with her husband and two daughters.
